Futures Volume
Futures volume is the total number of
purchases OR sales during a trading session, not purchases and sales
combined. Volume increases by one each time a transaction is
completed, either by the establishment of a new position or the offset of
an old position.
Focus on markets with high volume.
The higher the volume, the greater the number of contracts being traded
which is
important for getting in and out of the market at the best price
possible. Low volume means that there may not be anyone to take the
other side of your order, so you could get poor fills which leads to slippage and lost money.
